“God placed the weight of people on our hearts,” shared Sam John, the Founder and Catalyst for Church Underground.
After three years of praying and fasting, Church Underground was born.
Church Underground is not your typical church. The vision was inspired by the underground ministry led by Sam’s parents in Saudi Arabia as well as the Evangelism he led through Christian metal bands in the Underground Metal scene in India and now in Ontario, Canada.
“The churches in Saudi Arabia my parents planted were underground churches at our rented homes,” Sam shared. “It was high risk as it was against state religion. It helped me to understand the power of a movement.”
Church Underground ministers to those in the subcultures… be it Prison, Metal Clubs, Bars, followers of other faith, Immigrants, Newcomers to Canada or someone with a “Post-Christian worldview”, we believe the Holy Spirit can touch anyone, anytime, anywhere – making citizens of the rejected!
